Health Benefits Of Rebounder Mini Trampoline Exercise. Articles, Information and Testimonials. Welcome, Join us in Losing Weight, Toning up, Getting Healthy and Having Fun. Strength gains and muscle tone. 33 Ways the body responds to rebound exercise. Quality rebounders vs cheaper brands. Rebound exercise vs jogging and running. "…for similar levels of heart rate and oxygen consumption, the magnitude of the biomechanical stimuli is greater with jumping on a rebounder trampoline than with running, a finding that might help identify acceleration parameters needed for the design of remedial procedures to avert deconditioning in persons exposed to weightlessness." N.A.S.A., Journal of Applied Physiology 49(5): 881-887
Rebounding can burn up to 700 calories an hour. For example, a 20 minute jog on the rebounder can be the equivalent of a three mile run but with over 80% less shock trauma to the joints and skeletal system than running on a hard surface. Because the G force affects the entire body, the whole body benefits at cellular level. The whole body becomes stronger, fitter and more efficient.
Rebounding dramatically increases the mitochondria count in each cell, due to the extra demand for energy, thus increasing the availability of energy as well as body's capacity for using that energy. Put simply, you can have the added benefit of losing weight long after you have finished exercising, as well as having more available energy for use throughout the rest of the day.
All of us are well aware of the importance of the cardiovascular system, but few of us are aware of just how vital our lymphatic system is to our health. The lymphatic system is interactive with every part of our body, delivering nutrients, fighting virus and bacterial infections and detoxifying our systems of everything from cancerous cells to waste products and toxic heavy metals.
Because lymph fluid depends mainly upon muscular contraction to pump it throughout the body, nothing stimulates the lymphatic system more than rebound exercise. The vertical processes of acceleration and deceleration while bouncing on a rebounder, simultaneously challenge every cell in the body, every muscle, as well as the thousands of one way lymphatic valves and ducts. Studies have shown that even moderate rebounding for a few minutes a day can significantly increase the effectiveness of the lymph system resulting in immeasurable health benefits. Put simply - you have all the fun and the force of gravity does the work.
Testimonials ...."Although the bouncing was fun from the start, running on my new rebounder took a little getting used to at first. However I soon realized I didn't get the same painful lower leg cramps I did with jogging and I didn't need to worry about weather conditions or breathing in smog and pollution while running down busy roads. My sinuses are kept clear from the first few seconds on the rebounder, which is something I've been troubled with for decades. I now use it for a few minutes every hour while working on the computer to keep my circulation moving and mental energy levels high. I wish I had bought one years ago."....George Ford.
Imagine
being able to burn up those calories, melt away the cellulite and tone your body shape simply by
jumping on your own personal rebounder mini trampoline any time of the day or night. While
watching TV, playing with the children or as part of your regular work out. You
don't have the hassle of time restriction or the drive over to the gym and back
when you don't feel like it. The rebounder is available at your convenience
whenever you want it. This is one reason why rebound exercise is one of
the hottest exercise trends today. Because exercising on a rebounder mini trampoline is a whole body exercise, every part of the body is stimulated to burn off calories as energy. The increased metabolism and demand by the cells for energy can last for many hours after your exercising has stopped. Thus, a mere few minutes rebounding 1-3 times a day can have long lasting, noticeable results on the body. Even the skin tone benefits from the extra lymph and blood circulation. Indeed, many health and beauty therapists now actively encourage facial exercises while rebounding. Without doubt, the most popular rebounding activity from health club to home, has to be rebound aerobics. Two of the best and most popular video / DVD programs available are "Keep On Rebounding!" Best Selling Video, and "G-Force" - by Fitprime (rebound aerobics + yoga + weights). A club or home workout with these two programs will burn off anything up to 600 calories. Both are available from our home and products page please click here
Testimonials "I've always been lucky with my weight. I lead an active life and have always had a reasonably lean figure. But over the last few years my waistline has started to soften a little. Within 2 months on the rebounder my waistline was noticeably reduced and tightened. I even had more defined abs than my husband, who has since become a rebounding fanatic after seeing my results. Only trouble is, we both like to rebound at the same time of evening ! "....... Jackie Rose. Strength Gains and Muscle Tone.
Exercising on a rebounder mini trampoline is one of the most efficient forms of exercise for increasing muscle tone and strength. Not only is every muscle group in the body tensed and challenged during the bouncing activity, but the very cells which ultimately make up those muscles are challenged by the forces of gravity and have no option but to become stronger - just as with astronauts in zero gravity space - the muscles become weaker. Rebound exercise increases bone density and muscle growth.
Because the cells are challenged to become individually stronger, there is a huge potential benefit for those in sports such as gymnastics, athletics, soccer, football, tennis basketball etc. From the second you begin the bounce, you can notice the abdominals harden, biceps flex and chest deepen. There is an endless variety of exercises you can perform, with or without the use of hand held weights while bouncing, jogging or running on the rebounder. You set your own targets and goals. You will simply be amazed at the difference in muscle tone and whole body endurance with regular use. Testimonials. "..I'm a 43 year old health and fitness instructor of 15 years. I've always trained both for professional and personal reasons. A few years ago I noticed I was needing to work twice as hard to achieve the same results as before. I was also having allot of muscle injuries - strains etc.
Since I have been doing rebound exercise ( 1 year) I have reduced the injuries, increased the muscle tone - especially the back and abdominal muscles and found a new level of energy I haven't seen for many years. I've now almost totally given up sit ups and crunches, and revolutionized my weight training. My recovery time for running is now less than half what it used to be and this alone has given me the incentive to recommend rebounding to my clients. ..."

Rebounding in Weight Training Programs. "This study examines the aerobic benefits of regular circuit weight training and how it compares to a Super Circuit which incorporates running instead of rest intervals between each circuit station.""30 seconds of running between exercise stations, dramatically improved aerobic endurance (17.0%), reduced body fat percentages 10.9% to 17.1% in 12 weeks, and increased strength up to 26.0% in that same period." Ways the Body Responds to Rebounding 1. Rebounding provides an increased G-force (gravitational load), which strengthens the musculoskeletal systems. 2. Rebounding protects the joints from the chronic fatigue and impact delivered by exercising on hard surfaces. 3. Rebounding helps manage body composition and improves muscle-to-fat ratio. 4. Rebounding aids lymphatic circulation by stimulating the millions of one-way valves in the lymphatic system. 5. Rebounding circulates more oxygen to the tissues. 6. Rebounding establishes a better equilibrium between the oxygen required by the tissues and the oxygen made available. 7. Rebounding increases capacity for respiration. 8. Rebounding tends to reduce the height to which the arterial pressures rise during exertion. 9. Rebounding lessens the time during which blood pressure remains abnormal after severe activity. 10. Rebounding assists in the rehabilitation of a heart problem. 11. Rebounding increases the functional activity of the red bone marrow in the production of red blood cells. 12. Rebounding improves resting metabolic rate so that more calories are burned for hours after exercise. 13. Rebounding causes muscles to perform work in moving fluids through the body to lighten the heart's load. 14. Rebounding decreases the volume of blood pooling in the veins of the cardiovascular system preventing chronic edema. 15. Rebounding encourages collateral circulation by increasing the capillary count in the muscles and decreasing the distance between the capillaries and the target cells. 16. Rebounding strengthens the heart and other muscles in the body so that they work more efficiently. 17. Rebounding allows the resting heart to beat less often. 18. Rebounding lowers circulating cholesterol and triglyceride levels. 19. Rebounding lowers low-density lipoprotein (bad) in the blood and increases high-density lipoprotein (good) holding off the incidence of coronary artery disease. 20. Rebounding promotes tissue repair. 21. Rebounding for longer than 20 minutes at a moderate intensity increases the mitochondria count within the muscle cells, essential for endurance. 22. Rebounding adds to the alkaline reserve of the body, which may be of significance in an emergency requiring prolonged effort. 23. Rebounding improves coordination between the propreoceptors in the joints, the transmission of nerve impulses to and from the brain, transmission of nerve impulses and responsiveness of the muscle fibers. 24. Rebounding improves the brain’s responsiveness to the vestibular apparatus within the inner ear, thus improving balance. 25. Rebounding offers relief from neck and back pains, headaches, and other pain caused by lack of exercise. 26. Rebounding enhances digestion and elimination processes. 27. Rebounding allows for deeper and easier relaxation and sleep. 28. Rebounding results in better mental performance, with keener learning processes. 29. Rebounding curtails fatigue and menstrual discomfort for women. 30. Rebounding minimizes the number of colds, allergies, digestive disturbances, and abdominal problems. 31. Rebounding tends to slow down atrophy in the aging process. 32. Rebounding is an effective modality by which the user gains a sense of control and an improved self image. 33. Rebounding is enjoyable People who rebound find they are able to work longer, sleep better, and feel less tense and nervous. The effect is not just psychological, because the action of bouncing up and down against gravity effectively stimulates the lymphatic system without trauma to the musculoskeletal system. This unique discovery is central to the reasons Rebounding has become one of the most beneficial forms of exercise ever developed.
Quality rebounders vs cheaper brands. I've included this small section in the health benefits because I personally feel the choice of rebounders you make is of the utmost importance to your overall health gains. I, like you, expect value for money when it comes to buying something new. Several years ago, I foolishly ignored the warnings of others on buying cheap rebounders, ignored the research and vast amounts of information out there on rebounder mini trampoline brands and specifications. I simply bought a cheap, but high profile rebounder. Over the following months, I literally spent more time changing broken springs and sewing burst stitching than rebounding. After about a year, I was left with a useless heap of rubbish and out of pocket for another rebounder. Within minutes of jumping on my new ReboundAIR half fold model, I became acutely aware of the magnitude of difference in the units. The quality of bounce, reduced impact on joints and physical benefits I later gained from the better quality unit were staggering.
I've since tested out most major and less common brands across the world and, although I have found a few select good models out there amongst the junk, I have yet to find the quality and value for money of the ReboundAIR rebounders you will find on this site. I simply refuse to sell inferior models at inflated prices to people who expect to receive the health benefits and enjoyment associated with rebound exercise at an affordable price.

"Probably the best investment in your health for you and your loved ones that you will ever make - and its fun."
Getting started, health and safety.
Like every form of exercise, rebounding should be approached in a sensible manner. Always consult your medical advisor if you suffer from any medical condition. Start by warming up through gentle stretching exercises. Once on the rebounder, perform several soft bounces for a minute or so, while keeping your feet on the mat. Build up gradually just like you would do with any other form of exercise. Listen to your body and adjust your rebounding to suit your levels of comfort.
If you are unsure about your balance at first, simply place the unit near a wall or somewhere you can rest a hand on, to give extra balance until you feel more confident. Your sense of balance will improve quickly with regular practice. Or, simply order a stabilizing bar from our products page. The bar is specially designed to fit the rebounders and is easy to assemble. The stabilizing bar is recommended for those recovering from illness and injury or for the elderly.
